Hi I’m Sarah, & this is my story.

I believe there is medicine and meaning to be found in telling the story of our life and witnessing other people tell theirs. My passion for tending stories forms the bedrock of my professional pursuits and personal values. This lifelong passion integrates my various identities as a wife, mother, licensed counselor, poet, content creator, parts work mentor, yoga teacher, and writer.

Stories help us experience catharsis, develop self-awareness, and express our truth, the truth that liberates and alchemizes, not just for our own benefit, but for all of humanity. Stories heal. Stories offer redemption. Stories empower. My life’s work is this never-ending business of self reclamation and story medicine. I hope to forever trace circles of meaning and embody passion for living the great myth of our lives. It is an honor to engage this sacred work. It is an honor to be witnessed and to witness.

My mission is to help you experience the embodied wisdom of your whole self.

I am an IFS therapist, parts work mentor, writer, and post-lineage yoga teacher who specializes in complex trauma, addictions, and relationships. I have a Master’s Degree is in Marriage and Family Therapy and am triply licensed as a LAC, LAMFT, and LCADC. I have extensive experience working with populations recovering from substance use disorders and acute and complex trauma in the private practice, IOP, and residential treatment settings. I am trained in Internal Family Systems Therapy, The Gottman Method, Somatic Attachment Therapy, and Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy.

Most importantly, I believe that people heal when they feel seen and understood for their authentic selves and that healing happens in relationship.

My professional background informs my work of holding space beyond my role as a counselor. I am a post-lineage yoga teacher (ERYT-500) who has studied, practiced, and taught kriya and ashtanga yoga under Manju Jois, classical Sanskrit with the American Sanskrit Institute, and Shakta Tantra with Dr. Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Swami Satyasangananda Saraswati. I have been published in academic and literary journals such as Parts and Self and I write regularly for my Substack journal, Whole Self Journal. I have a book focused on CPTSD and IFS forthcoming with New Harbinger Publications.

Most importantly, my creative and embodied practices inform my own journey of healing and process of becoming.
