Hi, I’m Sarah.
I am an IFS trauma therapist, writer, yoga teacher, doula, wife, and mother. I help you become who you needed when you were younger with IFS.
I share essays, musings, and memoirs on parts work and the healing journey on my Substack journal, Heirloom, and Instagram with over 100,000 followers . My book, The Internal Family Systems Workbook for CPTSD, is available for pre-order now. My work has been featured on podcasts such as Do The Work Podcast and The Reprogrammed Parent and journals such as Parts and Self.
I believe that what your embodied experience and inner world knows deeply matters, and I am honored to walk this path of becoming with you.
My mission is to help you become who you needed when you were younger.
I am an IFS trauma therapist who specializes in complex trauma, addictions, and relationships. I have a Master’s Degree is in Marriage and Family Therapy and am triply licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapy. I have extensive experience working with populations recovering from substance use disorders and acute and complex trauma in all levels of care including detox, PHP, IOP, and private practice. I am trained in Internal Family Systems Therapy, The Gottman Method, Somatic Attachment Therapy, and Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy.
Most importantly, I believe that people heal when they feel seen and understood for their authentic selves and that healing happens in relationship.
My professional background informs my work of holding space beyond my role as a counselor. I am a post-lineage yoga teacher (ERYT-500) who has studied, practiced, and taught kriya and ashtanga yoga under Manju Jois, classical Sanskrit with the American Sanskrit Institute, and Shakta Tantra with Dr. Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Swami Satyasangananda Saraswati. I write regularly on my Instagram and Substack journal Heirloom in addition to being author of the IFS Workbook for CPTSD and writing for psychology journals such as Parts and Self. I am also a birth and postpartum doula.
Most importantly, my creative and embodied practices inform my own journey of healing and process of becoming.
